BRIEF MODEL HISTORY 

The Porsche 968 itself is the ultimate evolution of porsche's water cooled 4 cylinder sports car program that had begun in with the introuction of the 924 in 1976. In the early 90's Porsche's production was slowing and the 968 platform was a slow seller.

The "clubsprt" or 968 CS was introduced in Oct. 1992 for the1993 model year. Designed to sharpen the sporting focus of the 968 model line, it was received with instant praise with both the world's auto press and Porsche cusomers alike. A 50Kg vehicle weight reduction included the deletion or removal of the following: front power seats, rear seats, power windows, power mirrors, heated washer jets, engine compt. light, automtaic temperature control, electric hatch relaese, rear loud speakers, lightened wiring harness, engine sound proofing. The CS added (or available optionally) some delectable goodies from Porsche's parts bin, highlights included, lightweight recaro racing buckets, body colour coded 7.5 x 17 and 9x 17 "cup" wheels, 3 spoke sport steering wheel, further optimized sport suspension (M030) with 911 carrera RS brake calipers, drilled brake discs, 30% stiffer and adjustble rear anti roll bar, 30 -40 mm lowered stance, front adjustable spring plates, KONI adjutable dampeners. Some creature comforts could be readded to the car like power windows and air conditioning, as this particular example has been equipped.
